Gerry’s Grill in Tagaytay is Every Filipinos Ultimate Food Trip Haven

October 24th, 2011Pinoy FoodFor the many times that my family have went to Tagaytay and have tried several famous restaurants there, one Pinoy Restaurants where we have dined for several times is Gerry’s Grill. It’s not about the fancy dishes that the restaurant offer, in fact the dishes are pretty simple. But what made us come back to Gerry’s Grill more often is the scenic view of the famous Taal Lake and Taal Volcano.
Gerry’s Grill has a veranda where you can have a very relaxing ambiance, perfect as you wait for the gastronomic feast that you will have to order from the restaurant’s wide variety of Filipino favorites. Gerry’s Grill’s accomodating staff, from the managers, waiters and waitresses to the guard who guides you on properly parking your car compliments’ the restaurants perfectly sumptous dishes. In short, everything is set for your dining pleasure, from the time you’ve parked your car, to the time you’ve chosen what you’re going to feast on from Gerry’s Grill’s menu, to the waiting time till your orders are served.
But the true pleasure begins once your start eating. To give you a sample of Gerry’s Grill menu, my family and myself recently had our lunch there, before proceeding to Canyon Cove in Nasugbu Batangas. We usually go there with my wife and my two kids. But last Saturday was a bit special because we were celebrating my daughter’s sixth birthday. She specifically requested that we bring along her two lolas (from my side and her mother’s side) plus our household help.
And so, without further adieu, here are the dishes that we ordered (and I highly recommend them all to you if in case you will dine at Gerry’s Grill in Tagaytay).
The famous Bulalo which was steaming enough to give you some comfort especially if the weather gets kind of cold.

The Adobo Rice with generous bits and pieces of pork adobo, wrapped in Banana leaves…

Grilled squid which was tender enough not to give you a hard time chewing…

Chopsuey with fresh veggies…

Chicken Fingers for the kiddies…

And the famous Halo-Halo which the two Lolas requested…

It was a great lunch for me, not just because of the great food we had, but moreso because we seldom have the Lolas eat out with us and of course, it was my daughter’s belated birthday celebration. After the lunch, we’re off to Nasugbu Batangas for an overnight stay at Canyon Cove. But that’s another story and you can read about it at my travel blog.
So, did you enjoy this post or not? Did I manage to convince you to try out Gerry’s Grill the next time you’re in Tagaytay? If I did, well then I have the right to become the Sooo Pinoy Ultimate Blogger, don’t you think so?
